I think you are correct that the text about Biff, the dog and the
command, doesn't appear in the 2nd edition of USAH.  However, you might
note that on the cover cartoon (RED book) there is a tombstone with the
name "Biff" on it... Biff, the dog, passed away between the publication
of the 1st and 2nd edition.

RIP, Biff.
