Recruitment Interviews

Hi,

We're in the process of recruiting several new IT staff members and would like
to give each of the applicants a standardised technical test, or have a
standardised set of questions from which we select questions during the
interview.

Does anyone have any experiences with a standard technical test?

I've read the SAGE job descriptions booklet, which I'm using as a basis
for some job descriptions.

We are a mid sized (400 worldwide) telecommunications software development
and consulting company based in London.  We have a mixture of Sun workstations
and desktop PCs, with a mixture of public domain and commercial software.

Can anyone point me in the directions of some useful recruiting resources?
