I've generally just soldered in a pullup resistor in
the 232 line. Celeste Sokely's web site has the info
at http://www.stokely.com/unix.sysadm.resources/faqs.sun.html
and it's around at other sites. Perhaps useful to bribe a
kid good with a soldering iron to make you a dozen or two
if you're a large shop.
