John, I've had similar issues with network printing on OpenServer 5.0.5. 
I have no experience with 5.0.6 or 5.0.7. 

While I don't know the root cause (other than a buggy lpd server), I've 
been able to restore print services by killing all of the "lpd" processes
and then restarting the lpd server with "/usr/lib/lpd -l".
