I'm aware of that - I meant CACert's root certificate.  That *isn't*  
in the various browsers, and they do the same type of ownership  
check.  That's all I meant.  If one type of check is OK for one  
vendor, it should be OK for the other vendor.   In this case, i  
actually think that CAcert is on their way to being included in some  
browsers, but has to fulfill some other guidelines first...
