[SAGE] Websense implementations on Linux
Hello all,
The company I work for is in the midst of planning a fairly-large (10+
server) rollout of Websense Security Suite. One of the big open
questions in the design process is Win32 vs. *nix for the underlying
server OS. We've got a pretty good handle on the technical factors in
this decision, but the leadership folks are wondering about other
companies that have implemented Websense on *nix.
Our Websense AE and his team don't seem to have any customers they can
name that have implemented on Linux or Solaris (not counting appliance-
based implementations such as Bluecoat or Crossbeam). They're all
Windows-based. I have to figure there are non-Windows implementations
out there, or Websense wouldn't spend engineering resources providing
Linux and Solaris versions.
Does anyone on this list have experience with running Websense on
Linux or Solaris? My preference is to not bring another 10+ Windows
boxes into our environment to manage, but I need some ammunition to
reassure the bosses.
Thanks much in advance.
